Asher eating...well, almost.

Well, I've tried to start Asher on solids, but he doesn't seem to be taking it very well, yet. Everything I've given him has been met with the same response. Even applesauce! I thought EVERY child liked applesauce! But as you can see, he makes faces, puts his hands in front of his mouth, keeps his mouth closed, and looks every other direction he can to get away from this apparently yucky stuff. Any helpful hints on how to get him to like food are welcome! (and yes, I narrate my videos from time to time)

What is so interesting?

I caught Asher checking himself out in his little mirror and I thought it was so adorable I just had to share it!

7 months old

It's so interesting how your perspective changes! When Asher was only a few weeks old I attended a breastfeeding support group and there were some babies there who were 5 months old. I thought "Wow! That's so old! I'm so glad my little Asher is not that old, yet!" And now he's SEVEN months and I wouldn't have it any other way! What a precious boy he is! Such a joy to us!

So many teeth

Well, a little over a month ago, Asher started getting a little fussier than usual and constantly wanted something in his mouth--except when he was eating. His appetite seemed to have decreased, so he wasn't eating much at each feeding (which drove me crazy, of course). We were asking everyone what they thought might be the problem--always thinking in the back of our minds that it might be teeth. Sure enough, 3 weeks after those symptoms started his first tooth broke through. Shortly after that happened, his symptoms pretty much disappeared and his eating was alomst back to normal. Somehow during these last 2 weeks a second tooth poked out and now I think there might be a third one coming because those same symptoms are returning!! I guess when it rains, it pours! (Incidentally, you won't be seeing any pictures of those teeth any time soon because Asher refuses to show them. He will barely let me even stick my finger in his mouth to touch them!

Family Portrait

I think this is our first family photo since Asher was just a week or 2 old. It's rare these days that all 3 of us are together!

Nana and Papa

I've always wondered how grandparents get their various names that kids call them. Well, for us it turned out to be a combination of their preferences and what the oldest grandchild can pronounce--at least that's the way it is with Grandma and Grandpa Frandsen. We finally know for sure what to call them--Nana D and Papa Tim! Here they are with all 3 of their grandkids (and it would have turned out to be a really GREAT picture if only they were all looking at MY camera!--Can you tell there were 2 of us taking pictures at the same time?!)

More Cousins!

Well, Asher finally got to meet his 2 cousins on the Frandsen side of the family, Brylan and Lanae. We were able to spend a week with them in Las Vegas. Anybody who has tried taking GOOD pictures of babies and kids knows how hard it is! Especially to get them ALL to look at the same time, let alone have a smile on their faces. Well, it was just so cute, as soon as we set these 3 down, Asher just snuggled right up to Brylan and they all seemed to know what to do! Look cute, of course!

Asher's first hike

On Sunday, this 6 month old little boy went on his first hike! Grandma and Grandpa Frandsen were going to see the beautiful flowers and asked if we wanted to join them. Asher did really well (I should hope so, since he didn't have to walk ANY of it!). He seemed to enjoy looking around at everything--especially our shadows. He is 17lbs now and just over 27 inches long, so I thought it would be pretty challenging, but it was not so bad carrying him in the baby carrier almost the whole time.
